hello, I submit you these actions.
Two outs. Runners on first and third. Runner on third always touch home plate before possible third out.

1) Batter hits behind second base, infielder deflect the ball... Batter overslides second base and is out because the second base touch him. Runner on third score and the other arrives "two seconds" late.

2) same action but after deflection the infielder takes the ball and touches the runner becaming from first oversliding second base. other runner score.

3) Batter swing third strike while the runner becaming from first overslide second and he's out (catcher-second baseman). Runner from third score before the out.

4) Batter receives base on balls but he runner from first attempting to steal on pitch overslide second base and he's out (catcher-second baseman). Orher runner on the action score.

how can we score them?

Anna Maria,

Here are my answers:
1) Batter overslides second base, so he only gets a single (if it is judged as a hit).
Runner from third scores, RBI for batter. Runner from first reaches third, on the batter.
2) There is no rule about oversliding a base by a previous runner. So the runner
from first has reached second base safely, and the batter is credited with a single and an RBI.
3) Batter reaches first base on K-FC, no RBI. Runner from first to second base reaches
second base safely, and is then tagged out 24. No caught stealing, because there was no steal attempt.
4) Because the batter receives a base on balls, there is no steal attempt anymore.
So the runner is out 24, no caught stealing. Runner from third scores on FC.

Hello Harry.
I agree with you for me is the same but here there's someone thinking that in the last case out is caught stealing.
I think base on balls is the same of hit in the last case. Scorers told me runner on first attempt to steal and then there was the base on balls

umpire_rus@mail.ruA hit –and-run or run-and-hit?! The runner provokes protection showing steal. It is weak to steal, low speed of run. Batter protects his impact in the opened zone on a field. Additional bases not due to imaginary steal, and interaction batter and the runner. To be precisely confident, that it is a hit-and-run, the account at batter should be 0-2 or 1-3.

What for to credit the runner steal?
